I'm here for the snacks and the celebrities.
The Only Super Bowl Commercials You Need to See This Year
The 2021 Super Bowl commercials starring celebrities are highly entertaining and, honestly, thank goodness. The game looks a lot different this year: The Raymond James Stadium in Tampa has a limited capacity, which means more of us are watching the game from home than ever before. We're also still social distancing, so living room ragers are in short supply too.
But thankfully, we still have plenty of star-studded commercials in between plays to keep us cheering. From Tide to Cheetos to Doritos and Michelob Ultra, so many brands recruited A-list celebs for their Super Bowl spots. I'm talking about Mila Kunis, Amy Schumer, Serena Williams, Mindy Kaling, and the list goes on and on. The Weeknd is performing at this year's Pepsi-sponsored halftime show, so, of course, he's also in an A-plus commercial for the brand.
“We can’t wait to welcome multi-award-winning artist The Weeknd to the Pepsi Super Bowl LV halftime show stage,” Adam Harter, senior vice president of sports, media, and entertainment at PepsiCo., said in a statement. “In collaboration with the NFL and Roc Nation, we continue to reimagine what a Pepsi Halftime Show looks like with some of the biggest musicians in the world. We expect The Weeknd will continue to raise the bar, setting a new precedent both musically and visually for the most-watched performance of the year.”
A few of the commercials were released before actual game day, and several companies dropped teasers. We'll be rounding up those plus more celeb commercials leading up to the Super Bowl and afterward. Watch a few, below, and keep checking back.
