Estonian rapper Tommy Cash first introduced his bread slippers—loaves of bread transformed into shoes and stamped with the Maison Margiela logo—in 2019 as part of an exhibition with Rick Owens. Fast-forward almost two years later and, with the help of Maison Margiela, the Estonian rapper has released the trompe l’oeil slippers, this time with no expiration date. The inside of the shoes look the part of a white bread slice, while the outside resembles a golden brown, freshly baked loaf. The carbohydrate-friendly slip-ons are only the beginning of Cash and Margiela’s strange, wonderful merch.
