Victoria Beckham’s Future Lash Mascara Works Better Than an Eyelash Curler

The lift is everything. 🤩

If there's one thing Victoria Beckham knows, it's the power of subtlety. Always camera-ready, her makeup looks are simple yet striking—and her namesake beauty brand is a true extension of that. So when it was announced in January that Victoria Beckham Beauty was dropping Future Lash (its first mascara), I knew I had to try it.

Victoria Beckham's low-key approach to beauty appeals to me—her nude lip liners and lipsticks are some of my all-time faves—and the fact that her eyelashes are truly mesmerizing made it even more of a no-brainer. Future Lash promises a smudge-proof, lifting, and lengthening wear that's entirely removable with warm water. All great things, but what really drew me in was the clean, innovative formula. Made with a propriety plant-based complex of nourishing shea butter, niacinamide, and vitamin E, Future Lash is meant to condition lashes so they get stronger and healthier over time. As someone who's prone to eyelash breakage, I'm immediately intrigued by anything that bills itself as “hair care” for my precious lashes.

The mascara is housed in a shiny black glass tube that's heavy and luxurious, and the gold lettering looks chic in a minimalist kind of way—just as you'd expect from Queen V.B. On-point aesthetics aside, where this mascara truly shines is the brush. The bristles are thin and short, and the wand applicator is delicately curved to capture each and every lash from the root up. What I like most about the brush is its moonlike shape. I find it works really well for longer lashes like mine because it lets me work my way up with precision—essentially giving me same the lift and separation as my beloved Kevyn Aucoin eyelash curler.

Full disclosure: The first time I tested the mascara out, I wasn't immediately sold. The product went on wet and weighed my already long and heavy eyelashes down. Determined to realize its full potential, I cleaned up the brush and started applying the product every day for three full weeks, playing around with different application techniques. The more I used it, the more I loved it. I found the mascara goes on best when I use the wand with the curve facing upward. The small bristles fan out my lashes like crazy, so I like to stop halfway and dab a little extra product on the tips for a fluttery but natural look. Two coats of mascara are usually enough for me, but the product doesn't clump no matter how many layers I apply. The curl is super subtle too, which I love for everyday wear.

I normally don't apply mascara to my bottom lashes, but the rounded wand makes it really easy to get in there. I also realized while testing that I rub my eyes way more than I thought, and this mascara stays on all day without smudging or flaking.

Speaking of performance, washing off Victoria Beckham's Future Lash is a true breeze. All you need is a few splashes of warm water for it to slide right off. I love that I can actually remove all traces of mascara without needing a cleanser and cotton rounds. For one, it means fewer steps in my nighttime routine (I'm all about efficiency these days). Next, I've genuinely noticed less breakage. I tend to rub my eyelashes really hard when trying to take off mascara with cotton rounds and makeup remover—this typically results in at least two or three eyelashes falling out each time (RIP). I'm happy to report that I haven't lost a single one yet (!!). Overall, my lashes are noticeably stronger, which I didn't think would happen.

Simple but pretty—just how I like it.

If you're looking for falsies in a tube or Bambi doe eyes, this mascara probably isn't the one for you. But if you want a clean, nourishing formula that delivers length and seriously impressive lift, it's just right. Now, on to a more pressing concern: Will I be ditching my trusty eyelash curler for Victoria Beckham's Future Lash? Can't believe I'm saying it—but 100% yes.
