Watching Heidi Klum Cut Her Own Bangs Is a Journey

"This is clearly not a how-to video."

DIY haircuts have become a staple of quarantine life. We saw Bella Hadid do it last April, and now Heidi Klum is taking the matter into her own hands.

The supermodel posted a video to Instagram on March 25 of herself cutting her own bangs. She joked that she made the change for her husband, Tom Kaulitz, who told Klum his favorite hairstyle of hers is “long with bangs.” So she decided to take a crack at doing the style herself.

And watching her attempt is…a journey, to say the least. "This is clearly not a how-to video," Klum says at the end of the clip, below, which is honestly quite entertaining.

“Why can't there just be regular scissors in here?” Klum says in a faux-panic trying to find the right tools to achieve her look. There's cussing. There's screaming. At one point she pulls out a pair of scissors that you'd use to cut, like, paper or cardboard or something. It's a wild ride.

“I can't take your call right now,” Klum says to her ringing phone midway through the video. She's doing very serious hair things! Doesn't that person realize?

“He better notice when he comes home tonight,” Klum quips, laughing. Um, yeah. Now, Kaulitz should cut his hair however Klum wants. Fair is fair!

Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz tied the knot in August 2019. “For the first time I feel like I have a real partner, someone to share everything with,” she told People that October. At the time, the couple was very much in newlywed mode, and Klum gushed about Kaulitz, “He's amazing.”

She echoed the same sentiment to Extra in January 2020. “He was sent from heaven and couldn’t be kinder, sweeter, and more loving than he is,” she said.

Real talk, though: Cutting your own bangs can be a process. If you're curious for some tips—specifically on how to do the very-popular-right-now curtain bangsclick here.
