We Can’t Get Enough of J.Lo’s Y2K-Inspired Riviera Wardrobe

Happy Bennifer week! Shop her best looks here.

Happy Bennifer week! As the media frenzy surrounding the summer’s ultimate recoupling (sorry, Love Island) rumbles on, Jennifer Lopez has presented a new artifact for us to digest: a gold initial necklace spelling out Ben Affleck’s first name. Theories that Jen and Ben are toying with us seem hard to ignore after this sweet token, which publicly suggests J.Lo is keeping the actor, who she first dated from 2002 to 2004, close to her heart. Incidentally, Benny from the Block has also been wearing the silver watch Lopez gifted him during their whirlwind Noughties romance.

The nostalgic flashback to the turn of the century has come with other Y2K trappings that propose Bennifer is having the time of their lives harking back to their heyday and breaking the internet in the process. The look J.Lo wore to cement the couple’s relationship status on Instagram spelled out millennium style in a way that works for the pop star, who just turned 52 with Ben in Saint-Tropez. No Von Dutch caps, nor Miss Sixty denim, for our Jennifer. Rather, wide-brimmed hats that sit on the more demure side of cowboy territory (still with silver studs on though, natch), and flowing Valentino kaftans that call to mind the breezy silhouette of her iconic jungle print Versace dress worn to the Grammys in 2000. Waterfall hemlines are still an uncompromising part of her fashion DNA, and when you look like J.Lo, who can blame her for twirling around in her beachy cover-up and string bikini? Especially when Affleck is saying, “Give it to ’em” in the background.
