Zendaya’s Latest Red Carpet Look Is an Ab-Baring Knockout

The actor became the first celeb to wear a look from Pieter Mulier’s debut collection for Alaïa.

Zendaya’s calling card on the red carpet is quickly becoming the dramatic, ab-revealing crop top. Whether the bright yellow Valentino gown she wore to this year’s Oscars as a subtle tribute to Cher, or the gorgeous Christopher Esber dress she sported for the 2019 People’s Choice Awards, Zendaya’s looks adhere to the mantra, “if you’ve got it, flaunt it.”

And last night, she continued this theme, arriving at the Parisian premiere for her new film Dune in a knit, oxblood, long-sleeve crop top and a matching tapered skirt with a feathered fishtail from Pieter Mulier’s much-anticipated debut collection for Alaïa. It only feels right that, as one of Hollywood’s most thrilling dressers, Zendaya should be the first celebrity to wear a piece from the collection that has had fashion fans chomping at the bit.

The look came just days after Zendaya and her longtime stylist and image architect Law Roach went viral for another showstopping look for the press tour for Dune. On Saturday night at Venice Film Festival, Zendaya arrived at the world premiere of the epic sci-fi blockbuster wearing a wet-look Balmain dress that was actually made from flesh-toned leather handcrafted to her form. The finishing touch came via a 93-carat emerald necklace from Bulgari, the Italian jewelry house for whom the 25-year-old actor is an ambassador

It was, by all accounts, the standout look of the festival, and photos of her and her co-star Timothée Chalamet set the internet abuzz. The greatest joy of all? With plenty more cities to come on the Dune press tour, Zendaya and Roach are only just getting started.
