Now Playing: Battlefield 6 - Official Multiplayer Gameplay Reveal Trailer

Preloading for the Battlefield 6 beta is available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as well, along with the EA app, so the Steam numbers represent just a fraction of the total audience.

The Battlefield 6 open beta begins on August 7 for a select group of people, including those who signed up for Battlefield Labs by July 31, EA Play Pro members, and those who obtained a code from watching a Twitch streamer playing the game. The beta then opens to anyone August 9-10, and then for a second weekend August 14-17. For more, check out GameSpot's Battlefield 6 open beta breakdown.

The full game, meanwhile, launches on October 10 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The release date is about a month before Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is rumored to launch on November 14.
