Amazon also has the recently released SanDisk 2TB Extreme microSD card for its best price yet

Grab A 1.5TB SanDisk MicroSD Card On Sale Before Amazon's Big Spring Event Ends

SanDisk 1.5TB and 2TB microSD cards are on sale for great discounts at Amazon on the final day of the retailer's Big Spring Sale (March 31). The sale kicked off last week, and while Samsung's 1TB microSD cards were (and still are) prominently featured, SanDisk's cards were noticeably absent. But that has changed, with the SanDisk Ultra 1.5TB discounted to $95 (was $150) and the new 2TB Extreme on sale for $176 (was $210), which is the best price yet for the largest microSD card on the market today.

If you're looking for a high-capacity microSD card to expand your storage on Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch, or handheld Windows PC, we've put together a short list of the best deals from popular brands below and a longer list with more deals at the bottom of this story.

  • Best 2TB microSD Card Deal: SanDisk Extreme 2TB microSD (190MB/s) -- $176 ($210)
  • Best 1.5TB microSD Card Deal: SanDisk Ultra 1.5TB microSD (150MB/s) -- $95 ($150)
  • Best 1TB microSD Card Deal: Samsung Pro Plus 1TB microSD (180MB/s) -- $80 ($120)

The SanDisk Ultra 1.5TB microSD card works without a hitch on Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch, and it's also one of the most reliable and popular microSD cards around. It's graded for speeds of up to 150MB/s, which is faster than the officially licensed Nintendo microSDs by SanDisk and plenty fast enough for installing and playing games on your Steam Deck. It can also be used as expandable storage for handheld Windows PCs, as all popular models have microSD card slots.

The 1.5TB SanDisk Ultra microSD often sells for much higher prices at other major retailers. For instance, the card is $110 at Walmart and $160 at Best Buy at the moment.

Up until late last year, the 1.5TB card was the largest SanDisk offered, but now the storage device giant manufactures a 2TB model of the high-end SanDisk Extreme microSD card. It carries an eye-watering $210 MSRP, but you can pick it up for $176 at Amazon right now. The $34 discount is the best yet (previous best was $30).

The SanDisk Extreme offers speeds of up to 190MB/s. For Nintendo Switch users, it doesn't really make sense to buy the SanDisk Extreme, but handheld gaming PC users may appreciate the faster speeds.

If you want the faster speeds but don't need a 2TB card, the 1TB SanDisk Extreme is on sale for $85--though you may want to opt for the Samsung Pro Plus 1TB since it's five bucks cheaper at the moment.

You can grab 512GB and 256GB SanDisk Extreme cards for $40 and $19, respectively.

SanDisk has a range of officially licensed microSD cards imprinted with characters and emblems from popular Nintendo franchises. One of the newest additions to that lineup is this 1TB Pokemon-themed model, which appropriately features Snorlax.

All of the Nintendo-themed cards carry higher prices than the regular SanDisk cards. You're saving $50 off this card's launch price, but it still costs more than the 1.5TB SanDisk Ultra right now. This card has speeds of up to 100MB/s, so it's not as fast as the Ultra either. On Nintendo Switch this won't make a difference, but if for some reason you want a Pokemon-themed microSD for your Steam Deck, the drop in speed is worth keeping in mind.

Zelda fans can also get a 1TB SanDisk microSD emblazoned with the Hylian Crest for $100 (was $150) at Amazon.

For those who want more than 1TB, the aforementioned SanDisk cards are the only options from reputable brands available today. When it comes to 1TB cards, you have a bunch of options from Samsung, SanDisk, and more manufacturers. If you're looking to save some additional cash, you could opt for popular budget models from Lexar or TeamGroup.
