Anyone who purchased One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 on last-gen consoles will be able to get the game's upgrade for free

As noted in the video above, One Piece Pirate Warriors has sold 4 million copies across all platforms since its launch in 2020. The game will also get standalone PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S releases for fans who didn't purchase it before. However, there was no release date included in the announcement.

In addition to the upgrade, Bandai Namco confirmed that more updates and DLC are in the works for Pirate Warriors 4 regardless of which platform its' on. Through the original release and subsequent DLC, Pirate Warriors 4 currently has a roster of 61 One Piece characters. That number will be going up, and fans are invited to vote for which characters they want to see in an upcoming DLC release. That survey can be found on Bandai Namco's site. There are 23 characters to choose from, but the voting period only extends through the end of February.

Bandai Namco also said that more information about the upcoming DLC will be released soon. In the meantime, One Piece's live-action series on Netflix recently unveiled most of its new cast additions for Season 2. Netflix hasn't set a date for that yet, but it seems likely to arrive in either late 2025 or in 2026.
