Former Game Informer Staffer Offers An Actual Farewell: "Be Well. Play Well."

Apparently the goodbye post from last week wasn't written by the magazine's team
Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier posted on X that he asked ChatGPT to create a "farewell for Game Informer" and it spit out a similar message to the one shared by Game Informer last week. Schreier also added images that compare the two goodbyes, though it hasn't been confirmed that parent company GameStop used AI to make the message.
I told ChatGPT to write a farewell message for Game Informer magazine (R.I.P.) and it sure sounds a lot like the one that GameStop executives published this afternoon: pic.twitter.com/yhHyTbsu75

GameStop closed down Game Informer on August 2. The magazine started back in 1991 during the 16-bit era, becoming one of the quintessential video game publications for decades alongside competitors like EGM and GamePro. The last issue was 367, with Dragon Age: The Veilguard adorning the cover.
Earlier this year, Game Informer started offering standalone subscriptions for the first time. Previously, getting the magazine required either having a GameStop Pro membership or just buying individual issues at stores.
At the time of publication, the Game Informer website only features the parting message shared on August 2. That means previous cover stories and other content from the magazine's long history are unavailable at this time.
