Ballerina: From the World of John Wick releases on 4K Blu-ray September 9, and one of the retailer-exclusive Steelbook Editions is finally back in stock

John Wick: Ballerina 4K Steelbook Edition Preorders Restocked For $30 At Walmart

The retailer-exclusive Steelbook Editions of Ballerina: From the World of John Wick have been difficult to find in stock at Walmart and Amazon since preorders first opened in early June. But with only two weeks until the John Wick spin-off pirouettes onto 4K Blu-ray, Walmart has restocked its exclusive collectible edition. Walmart's Ballerina Limited Edition Steelbook is available to preorder for only $30 ahead of its September 9 release.

Ballerina on 4K Blu-ray:

  • Walmart's Steelbook Edition -- $30 | In stock
  • Amazon's Steelbook Edition -- $34.35 | Sold out
  • Standard Edition -- $28 ($43)

The Amazon-exclusive Ballerina Steelbook was actually back in stock for a very brief window while we were writing this story, but it sold out again. We'd still recommend checking the store page to see if it returns. Tastes differ, but the design of Walmart's exclusive looks cooler, in part because it has a picture frame-inspired slipcover.

Ballerina Limited Edition Steelbook | Exclusive to Walmart

You can check out both editions below, and if you want to pair your upcoming steelbook with similarly fancy versions of the mainline films, check out the Walmart-exclusive John Wick Chapters 1-3 Stash Book Collection for $50.

All 4K Blu-ray editions of Ballerina have the same video and audio options as well as special features. You'll get native 4K Blu-ray and 1080p discs as well as a voucher to redeem the digital edition to watch on any device. For video enhancements, the 4K disc offers Dolby Vision and HDR10 support. On the audio side, you have two surround sound options: Dolby Atmos and Dolby TrueHD 7.1. A trio of featurettes are included as bonus content on the 4K and 1080p discs.

Ballerina: From the World of John Wick Special Features

  • The Making of Ballerina
  • Building a Frozen Underworld
  • The Art of Action
  • Deleted and Extended Scenes
  • Theatrical Trailer

Walmart's exclusive Ballerina Steelbook Edition has an eye-catching design featuring the eponymous Ballerina herself, Eve Macarro. Ana de Armas' character is locked and loaded with a firearm in each hand. At first glance, you might miss that Eve is actually standing beneath a stage light and surrounded by ballerinas. The back cover features an antique music box with a ballerina who would spin if you twisted the key on the side. But alas, this music box is stuck inside a steelbook case, so it's just a picture.

The interior artwork shows Eve wielding a flamethrower from one of the coolest action scenes in the film. The inferno covers most of the inside front cover, but it also extends to the removable slipcover. The thoughtfully designed slipcover is fashioned like a picture frame. The clear plastic sleeve protects the collectible case and gives fans another way to display this edition with their John Wick collections. The ornate frame has ballerina figures on each side of de Armas.

It's always nice to continuity between the steelbook and the slipcover. The bottom of the slipcover is on fire because of the flamethrower scene inside the case.

Preorder at Walmart

Amazon's Limited Edition Steelbook sold out back in July. We have seen a few restocks, but these have always disappeared fast. When I started updating this story 15 minutes ago, Amazon's exclusive version of Ballerina was sold out. I refreshed the page a few minutes later and was surprised to see Amazon taking orders again. I was unsurprised when Amazon sold out again.

As of August 27, Amazon isn't offering an estimated delivery date for the Limited Edition Steelbook. Just keep in mind you probably won't receive your order on launch day.

Amazon's Limited Edition Steelbook features de Armas on a neon-soaked cover that fits in very well with the general vibe and aesthetic of the John Wick movies. On the inside of the cover, there's a rave scene going on in the background and a stylized hammer that will probably be used for something brutal. It also comes with a slipcover featuring the same cover art, just with the title running across the bottom.

All of the audio/visual features and bonus content found in Walmart's Steelbook Edition will also be present in this one.

Preorder at Amazon

When the exclusive collectible editions sell out at Amazon and Walmart again, fans may need to settle for the standard 4K Blu-ray edition with a regular plastic case. The standard 4K version has the same on-disc content and features. Preorders originally opened at $43, but thankfully it now sells for at least a couple bucks less than Walmart's Steelbook Edition.

  • Preorder 4K Blu-ray at:
    • Amazon -- $28 ($43)
    • Walmart -- $28 ($43)
  • Preorder Blu-ray at:
    • Amazon -- $32 ($40)
    • Walmart -- $32 ($40)
  • Preorder DVD at:
    • Amazon -- $19
    • Walmart -- $19.51

John Wick: Chapters 1-4 Blu-ray Deals

If you want to rewatch the mainline John Wick series ahead of Ballerina's Blu-ray release, you have several budget-friendly options. Amazon has a limited-time deal on the standard Blu-ray box set compiling the original tetralogy. You can get John Wick: Chapters 1-4 for only $28.49 (was $45). The display box has a window frame where you can showcase one of the four included art cards.

  • John Wick: Chapters 1-4 Collection (Blu-ray) -- $28.49 ($45)
  • John Wick: Chapters 1-3 Stash Book Collection (4K Blu-ray) -- $50 ($100)
    • Includes three steelbook cases and replica Stash Book.
  • John Wick: Chapters 1-3 (4K Blu-ray) -- $29 ($45)
  • John Wick: Chapters 1-3 (4K Blu-ray) + Playing Cards -- $41 ($45)
  • John Wick: Chapter 1 (4K Blu-ray) -- $15 ($23)
  • John Wick: Chapter 2 (4K Blu-ray) -- $14.49 ($23)
  • John Wick: Chapter 3 (4K Blu-ray) -- $13.40 ($23)
    • Walmart -- $12.71
  • John Wick: Chapter 4 (4K Blu-ray) -- $18 ($30)

The aforementioned Walmart-exclusive John Wick: Chapters 1-3 - Stash Book Collection is awesome, as it includes a trio of steelbooks housed in a display box inspired by the Stash Book from the series. This is a 4K Blu-ray box set, though it unfortunately only includes the first three chapters of the series. You could pair it with John Wick: Chapter 4 on 4K Blu-ray for $18.
