Jorjani's hopes have been seen previously in Hollywood movies. For example, Deadpool 2 saw a Brad Pitt cameo where the actor dies quickly after jumping from an airplane in the superhero sequel. The Other Guys also hilariously kills off Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson in the first act of the film.

The Helldivers movie was announced earlier this month at CES in Las Vegas, alongside a Horizon Zero Dawn film. Helldivers 2 was a surprise hit on PC and PS5 last year, ultimately becoming one of GameSpot's 10 best games of 2024.

Interestingly, a lot of people pointed out how Helldivers 2 felt like a video game adaptation of the cult classic Starship Troopers. And now, that game is set to become its own movie. Meanwhile, Arrowhead is busy working on its next game, too.
