As the second expansion of 2025, Renegades is part of Bungie's new development roadmap for Destiny 2. Rather than its past focus on seasonal storylines, Bungie is planning to continue the cadence of two expansions per year with free updates scattered in between releases.

We will have to wait until later in the year for more on how Destiny 2's lightsabers will work and what other Star Wars-inspired mechanics will be included in the expansion. In the meantime, Bungie has revealed significantly more information about this summer's expansion, The Edge of Fate, which will include new features like customizable location difficulty settings.
