There is also a special video message from Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer. The Xbox head honcho says that he played Diablo IV and Fallout 76 the most this year, adding that his friends got reinvested in the latter after the Prime Video TV series premiered. They weren't alone, either. The Fallout games saw a massive boost in player numbers in April after the show's success.

Spencer also touches upon the new campaign to remind people Xbox is more than just a console. He believes it's important for people to play where they want to play, whether it's Xbox Series X or mobile. That also may be why Xbox Year in Review breaks down playing time by where you played: console, PC, mobile, and cloud.

The Xbox Year in Review tool has become an annual occurrence for the company, and Sony and Nintendo are expected to provide similar summaries soon. Meanwhile, 2024 isn't over quite yet. For instance, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle highlights a collection of titles on the way for Game Pass this month.
