Take-Two recently confirmed that GTA 6 is still on track for a Fall 2025 release, and Borderlands 4 has a nebulous 2025 release date currently penciled in. While the Borderlands live-action movie was released to poor reception in August, Zelnick doesn't foresee it having a negative impact on the Borderlands game franchise ahead of its new mainline entry release. "So, I don't think it hurt at all, if anything I think it may have helped a little bit. It does highlight something that I've spoken about many times which is the difficulty of bringing our intellectual property to another medium," Zelnick said to IGN.
Once again developed by Gearbox, Borderlands 4 was announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live in August, although details on the game have been kept tightly locked up since then. Beyond the CG reveal trailer, we know that someone "far more dangerous" than Handsome Jack will menace players, and a high-tech--but lo-fi--planet for players to explore was recently shown off in concept art.
Rockstar Games veteran Ben Hinchliffe believes the GTA 6 will "blow people away" when it arrives, and it'll be one of several big games released by Take-two Interactive. In addition to GTA 6 and Borderlands 4, the company will also publish Mafia: The Old Country and Judas, although neither of those have concrete release dates yet.
