The Upcoming Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Blu-Ray Box Set Looks Great
Exclusive to Crunchyroll, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners: Complete Series is up for preorder for a 20% discount ahead of its October 23 release
Netflix's hit anime series based on CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 is finally releasing on Blu-ray. Exclusive to the Crunchyroll Store, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners: Complete Series is up for preorder for $124 (was $155). It's one of three upcoming Blu-ray releases of Netflix animated series based on video games. Edgerunners launches October 23, just a few days before Arcane Season 2's Steelbook Editions and just a few weeks after Castlevania: Complete Series.
Edgerunners is the only one of the three that's exclusive to the Crunchyroll Store, as the other two are also up for preorder at Amazon and Walmart.
Co-produced by legendary animation studio Trigger and Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red. Edgerunners originally aired on Netflix in September 2022.The three-disc Blu-ray collection features all 10 episodes presented in 1080p in its original widescreen aspect ratio. On the audio side, you can choose between English, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish tracks with optional subtitles in various languages.
The box set isn't marked as a limited or collector's edition, but the presentation and physical extras give it that vibe. Edgerunners: Complete Series is packaged in an oversized box with new artwork illustrated by character designer and animation director Yoh Yoshinari. Inside the box, you'll find the following collectibles:

- 3 Animation Cel Sheets
- 2 Year Anniversary Poster
Crunchyroll hasn't specified any on-disc bonus features, so fans shouldn't expect new video content. At the most, it could have trailers and textless opening/closing sequences, which are common for anime Blu-ray releases.

Set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners follows protagonist David Martinez after he experiences a personal tragedy that sets him on the path to take full control of his life. Rising through the ranks of Night City's criminal underworld, Martinez pushes himself to become a cybernetically enhanced legend, but in a city ruled by greed and disrespect for human life, he eventually learns just how self-destructive his pursuit for fame and glory can be.
Edgerunners was a massive hit after it began streaming and was a contributing factor to Cyberpunk 2077's redemption story. What made it so special is that virtually every aspect of its production involved A-list talent, from Trigger's amazing animation to the involvement of talented actors like Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito in its English cast.
On top of that, the series also had a fantastic soundtrack composed by Akira Yamaoka of Silent Hill fame. The score is also available on a stylish vinyl disc that's housed in a beautifully illustrated slipcase cover. If you feel like listening to "Stay At Your Place" and having a good cry, then this LP is a must-have.
Two other pieces of Edgerunner media to keep on your radar: the upcoming Cyberpunk: Edgerunners manga prequel and Cyberpunk Edgerunners: Combat Zone, an official board game from Monster Fight Club and CD Projekt Red. The board game was released earlier this year for $100, but it's now available for $76.
This looks like a great tabletop experience, as it comes with a game board featuring 3D Night City ruins for the terrain, cards, dice, tokens, rulebooks, and acrylic standees. This is also a fast-paced game as there are no rounds or phases. Players take take hits and get wounded in real-time, so you'll need to strike hard and fast when you play. This is the second Monster Fight Club Combat Zone board game based on the Cyberpunk franchise. The first, Cyberpunk Red: Combat Zone, is available for $87 at Amazon. Fans should also check out Cyberpunk 2077: Gangs of Night City, a tabletop strategy game made by CMON Limited. Amazon has deals on the base game and the Families and Outcasts Expansion.

As for the Edgerunners manga, this is priced at $15 and it will launch in February 2026. It explores the origins of everyone's favorite foul-mouthed gremlin from the show, Rebecca, and the story was written by Edgerunners screenwriter Bartosz Sztybor. Trigger's Asano (BNA: Brand New Animal) has illustrated it, giving the manga some extra pedigree.
Netflix Animated Series on Blu-ray
Netflix animated series rarely get physical releases, but animated series based on video games appear to be the (occasional) exception to this rule. As mentioned, Castlevania: Complete Series launches September 30 and is available to preorder for $150 (was $155) at Amazon and Walmart. Like Edgerunners, Castlevania's pricey Seasons 1-4 limited-edition box set comes with a number of collectibles, including a Ouija Game Board, Tarot Card Deck, faux woodgrain collector's box, and more. It's worth noting that all four seasons are already available on Blu-ray on their own, and you can get Castlevania: Nocturne Season 1 on Blu-ray.

Meanwhile, Arcane's second and final season, just like Season 1, is getting two Limited Edition Steelbooks. Unlike Castlevania and Edgerunners, Arcane is available on 4K Blu-ray. Fans of the League of Legends-inspired series can preorder Arcane Season 2's 4K Steelbook Edition for $46 and the Blu-ray Steelbook Edition for $43. If you haven't picked up Season 1, you'll find both Steelbook Editions for steeply reduced prices at Amazon.
All three seasons of Sonic Prime, another Netflix animated series based on video game IP, recently launched on Blu-ray. Sonic fans can snag Sonic Prime: The Complete Series with a collectible steelbook case for $27 (was $50).
