Should you confront Otama or Wakasa in Assassin's Creed Shadows - Golden Teppo guide
The decision to confront Otama or Wakasa happens near the end of the Sakai arc. Prior to this part, you have to meet with various NPCs and learn about the proper manners when participating in a tea ceremony. You can read about all the steps in our Searching Sakai: Tea merchant and kosode guide.
Once you're done with the preliminary tasks and the tea ceremony has been concluded, Naoe realizes that one of the ladies in the gathering is also the Golden Teppo mercenary. You're then given a choice on which person to confront: Otama or Wakasa.
What happens if you confront Wakasa?
If you decide to confront Wakasa in Assassin's Creed Shadows, then congratulations are in order, because you've made the right choice. Wakasa admits that she's encountered Naoe before--to be more specific, she shot her in the kidney and left her for dead. She really is the Golden Teppo, and she leaves you with a stern warning.
What happens if you confront Otama?
If you choose to confront Otama, well, then that's quite a bummer indeed. Even though Otama is a mean lady, she's not the actual mercenary that you're looking for. This decision causes her to run away, and you have to give chase and take her down. You're then left with a note saying that she's still a corrupt person, though Naoe learns that Wakasa is the true culprit.
Taking out the Golden Teppo
Regardless of your decision on confronting either Otama or Wakasa in Assassin's Creed Shadows, you do get to face the Golden Teppo (Wakasa) once you're ready. She has a base that looks akin to a construction site.
All you need to do is traverse the outer section while avoiding the guards. Then, once you reach the rooftop near her section, you should be able to perform an aerial assassination.
