Happy The Last of Us Day! Here's the first trailer for Season 2 of the HBO hit series

HBO's The Last Of Us Season 2 Trailer Gives Us Our First Look At Abby

In the trailer, we see a lot of moments in the game from Ellie getting her guitar with Joel teaching her how to play. There's also Ellie playing for Dina and glimpses of Jesse (Young Mazino) and the life in Jackson, the establishment survivors have made over the last five years. There are also scenes of various tense moments in the game such as going through the metro station and having to avoid an infected invasion.

Season 1 became a pop culture phenomenon with the series becoming the first live-action video game adaptation to receive major awards consideration. It was nominated for 24 Primetime Emmy Awards, with a leading eight wins at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, including for actors Nick Offerman and Storm Reid for Guest Actors in a Drama Series.

The first game's narrative was just enough for the entirety of Season 1, with some minor and major changes added along the way to spread it out. The Last of Us Part 2 is double the first game's length and includes various subplots and time jumps back and forth. There's so much material, showrunner Craig Mazin even thinks that just off of the sequel could generate two to three more seasons of the show.

Season 2 of HBO's The Last of Us arrives in 2025.
