If the third Deadpool movie can reach these heights, it would be the best opening weekend ever for an R-rated film in the US

Here's How Much Money Deadpool & Wolverine Is Expected To Make In Opening Weekend

Box office predictions are unreliable and highly variable, and are known to change, especially this far out from release. For example, a previous projection from the company Quorum was modeling Deadpool & Wolverine opening in the US to $200 million.

Pre-sales for Deadpool & Wolverine currently stand at $19 million, according to Deadline. Tickets went on sale in May and quickly broke sales records.

Deadpool and Wolverine is the first new Deadpool film since Deadpool 2 released in 2018, prior to Disney buying 20th Century Fox and the associated Marvel character rights. Some wondered and worried that Disney might try to tone things down, but that is not the case. In fact, Reynolds recently talked about how he was surprised with how much he was able to get away with in Deadpool and Wolverine as it relates to the film's R rating.

"I hope it doesn't sound condescending, I'm really proud of [Disney and Marvel] for doing this," Reynolds said. "I think it's a huge step for them."
