Witcher Dev Wants To Stay In Its "Niche" Of AAA Open-World RPGs Instead Of Chasing Trends

"If we spread ourselves too thin, we'll not deliver."
It's not immediately clear what Iwinski meant when he said, "We tried and it didn't work out." But it could be in reference to the planned Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer spin-off project that was later scuttled. The company also experimented with an augmented reality game called The Witcher: Monster Slayer, which shut down in 2023.
CD Projekt has a number of projects in the works for the future, including The Witcher 4, 5, and 6, as well as Cyberpunk 2, a remake of the original The Witcher, and a new game funded by Saudi Arabia.
More information on The Witcher 4 may come soon, as the game will be featured during Epic's State of Unreal event on June 3.
