"These characters are so much bigger than ourselves," Lin posted on her social media. "I am so honored and honestly can still hardly believe it. I have so much respect for all of the Peaches that came before me, especially the one I grew up with. Berzino added that she's living a childhood dream and wanted to pay respects to the VAs before her. "I am so inspired by the magnificent Toads before me, Jen Taylor and Samantha Kelly. The gaming community owes them a huge debt of gratitude for the years they've spent bringing these characters to life," Berzino posted. "I hope to do this little mushroom proud! He’s a fun guy! Get it? Fungi? Anyway…immensely grateful to Nintendo and Cup of Tea studios. Here we go!"
