DICE has periodically shared updates about its areas of focus during Battlefield's development process, such as efforts to improve environment destructibility and weapons balancing. However, specific information about gameplay mechanics, changes from Battlefield 2042, and especially the single-player mode have been kept under wraps.

DICE's development approach has included playtesters from the community from very early stages of development. Similar to EA's iterative process with the Skate series, this ongoing playtesting with members of the public has allowed DICE to refine game balance and mechanics, according to periodic updates from the studio. If you're interested in getting a chance to participate, you can still sign up to potentially join Battlefield Labs in a future wave.
