Rachael Lillis, Voice Of Pokémon's Misty And Jessie, Dies At 46
Known for her roles in Pokémon and many other series, Lillis passed away after battling breast cancer
Lillis was diagnosed with breast cancer in May, leading to a GoFundMe campaign that raised over $96,000 for her medical care. Following her passing, funds will now cover remaining medical bills, a memorial service, and contributions to cancer-related causes.
Beginning her voice acting career in the 1990s, Lillis contributed to numerous TV shows, anime series, and video games. In addition to her work on the original 1998 Pokémon anime, her work extended beyond to roles in Your Lie in April, Hunter x Hunter, and Winx Club. She also voiced Jigglypuff in Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. series.
Taylor added, "We all know Rachael Lillis from the many wonderful roles she played. She filled our Saturday mornings and before/after school hours with her beautiful voice, her terrific comic timing, and her remarkable acting skills."
Lillis' sister, Laurie Orr, wrote on GoFundMe, "My heart breaks losing my dear little sister, though I am comforted knowing she is free. We ask for peace, for now, as her family grieves this loss."
