Setting the record straight on some of the scuttlebutt surrounding a potential new Titanfall game

Don't Believe Those Titanfall 3 Rumors You've Heard

In 2023, we learned that Respawn veteran Steve Fukuda was in charge of the skunkworks team working on "something new." Just what this game actually is, however, has never come to light.

Titanfall fans have been waiting years for a potential sequel to Titanfall 2. It was previously reported that EA canceled a game, "Titanfall Legends," that would have blended elements of Apex Legends and Titanfall.

2014's Titanfall was Respawn's first release after Vince Zampella, Jason West, and numerous other Infinity Ward developers left to start a new company. The game was a success and spawned a sequel, Titanfall 2 (2016), but that would prove to be the final entry in the main series before Respawn shifted focus to its battle royale game, Apex Legends. Since then, fans have called on Respawn to return to the Titanfall series with a bonafide new entry--but as of yet, nothing has materialized. Apex Legends and Titanfall are connected, and some elements of Titanfall have surfaced in Apex Legends before.

As for what Respawn is developing, we know the studio is working alongside Bit Reactor on a Star Wars turn-based game--it will be officially unveiled on April 19. The EA-owned studio is also expected to be working on the next Star Wars Jedi game. Its unannounced Star Wars FPS was canceled in 2024.
