Square Enix Is Trying To Decide On A Release Date For Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Square Enix also said that those who haven't played Final Fantasy VII Remake will be able to enjoy Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Co-director Motomu Toriyama hinted that Rebirth's timeline could deviate even further from the original's as well. Final Fantasy VII Remake, which was first launched in 2020, established a new timeline different from the original game. The upgraded Intergrade version for PS5 was released in 2021.

In the meantime, fans can look forward to the latest mainline entry, Final Fantasy XVI, which is set to release on June 22 for PlayStation 5.

In GameSpot's Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade review, we said, "On the whole, the PS5 upgrade for Final Fantasy 7 Remake elevates an already phenomenal, beautiful game, making it easier to play and more beautiful to behold. If you've been holding back on checking out FF7R up to now, the PS5 version is the superior way to experience it--and you absolutely should."
