The same also applies to re-customizing the Palico, a companion character who follows the main player-character throughout the game. On the bright side, this fee doesn't apply to changing up basic cosmetic features like hair, face/skin color, eyebrow color, makeup, or clothing. But making more in-depth changes will cost you.

How much will it cost you? Well, there's a number of options. Currently, an item called The Monster Hunter Wilds Character Edit Voucher Pack--which features three customization vouchers--is available to purchase for $6 USD. You can also purchase a three-voucher pack for the Palico, which also costs $6 USD. Another option is a voucher that costs $10 USD and allows players to re-build both their player-character and the Palico three times each.

Thankfully, Capcom is also providing all players with a voucher that allows them one additional chance to re-customize their character and the Palico for free. But once that token is gone, players will have to pay up if they want to significantly change their look.

Despite the rather unpleasant surprise regarding character re-customization, Monster Hunter Wilds is doing wildly well. There have been some issues on PC, but that hasn't stopped the game from breaking records on Steam, with over 1.2 million concurrent players.
