Now Playing: Nintendo Switch 2 Console Review

The update should automatically download when you connect your system to the internet. However, you can also manually install it by opening the System Settings menu from the home screen and selecting System Update.

This marks the first firmware update the Switch 2 has received since the big day one update released on June 4. That added many of the system's signature features, including GameChat, GameShare, and the ability to play backwards compatible Switch 1 games.

The Switch 2 launched around the world on June 5 and is already off to a record-breaking start, moving 3.5 million units in its first four days on the market. Launch title Mario Kart World is also a big success so far; 79% of Switch 2 owners have also picked up the racing game, either as part of the system bundle or by buying a copy on its own.
