The 30th-anniversary bundle and consoles for the PlayStation are in monumental demand, but Japan wants to make sure the consoles are going to gamers and not scalpers

Japanese PS5 Pro 30th-Anniversary Consoles Are Only Available To Actual Players

If you've signed into a PS4 or PS5 console between February 22, 2014, and September 19, 2024 you're in. Pre-orders are now open for the console on the Japanese PlayStation store, and those who want to buy one simply need to use a PlayStation Network login with a Sony account registered in Japan.

The pre-order for the console is open until the end of the day on October 14. There will be a lottery system in place to determine the next batch of buyers if there are more pre-orders than there are available consoles. The bundle is being sold for 168,980 yen, which is roughly $1,177.

The 30th Anniversary PS5 Pro is colored like the original PlayStation along with a matching gray DualSense Edge, a DualSense controller, and a DualSense Charging Station. It will also include a console cover for the disc drive--which is still sold separately--a vertical stand, a collectible poster from 30 possible designs, an "original PlayStation-style cable connector housing", four PlayStation Shapes cable ties, a sticker, and a paperclip.

The PlayStation 5 Pro 30th-Anniversary collection arrives November 21.
