The actor, who plays Quiet, opens up about the personal tragedy she endured in Season 1 and a physical scar she'll carry forever

Twisted Metal Season 2 Star Stephanie Beatriz Says She'll Carry The Scars Of The Show With Her Forever

Beyond the physical scar, Beatriz said she has an emotional imprint from filming Seasons 1 and 2, due to major life events. Beatriz welcomed her first child in August 2021, and then went to set in May the following year to film Twisted Metal Season 1. Just two months later, in July 2022, Beatriz found out her father was dying of cancer. He passed away not long after.

"It was a whole turmoil in my head of like, 'How do I get through every day?'" she said.

For Season 2, Beatriz said she doesn't necessarily feel more "focused" on set, but those two major life events aren't competing for her attention the way they were in Season 1. Despite that, Beatriz said she does feel some amount of guilt over being away from her young child.

"It is an actor's job, I think, to be able to try to separate whatever is happening in their home, in their personal life, from what is happening on set," she said. "I hope that I did a good job of it in Season 1, but I think in Season 2, I feel a lot more guilt, because I'm away from my child, and she's not just like a larva anymore."

Twisted Metal Season 2 premieres July 31 on Peacock.

Sony Pictures Television paid for GameSpot's flight and accommodation to Toronto to see the Twisted Metal Season 2 set and speak with the cast and crew.
