One of the "most helpful" reviews on Steam comes from someone explaining how to get a refund on NBA 2K24. Keep in mind that review bombing is nothing new for Steam or other platforms. Overwatch 2 recently experienced a ton of negative feedback on Valve's service, though many of those come from Chinese players who couldn't access their previous accounts for the shooter because of Activision's breakup with NetEase.

There is another significant difference between NBA 2K24 and Overwatch 2. The former hasn't even reached 3,000 user reviews, while the team-based shooter has over 118,000 user reviews on Steam. So it'll be interesting to see whether the basketball game bounces back at all with Steam players.

NBA 2K24 launched September 8 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The basketball game's file size is reportedly bigger than Starfield on Xbox Series X|S.
