In a social media post, Microsoft said its teams are "investigating crashes on Steam when launching." The company said it's also looking into issues relate to missing preorder character skins and matchmaking problems.

Microsoft shared a possible workaround for the Steam crashing issues. Players can navigate to C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\Coalition and then delete the WarGame folder.

Gears of War: Reloaded launched on August 26 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A remaster of the original, it represents the franchise's debut on PlayStation after the series was exclusive to Xbox on console for 19 years. August 26 was also the day a PlayStation-published game, Helldivers 2, came to Xbox.
