Lego Lord Of The Rings: The Shire Is Available Now, Includes Free Gift For Limited Time

The Lord of the Rings: The Shire is a 2,017-piece recreation of the idyllic home of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins
This set contains 2,017 pieces and nine minifigures, and as you'd expect, it contains various details from the Lord of the Rings films it appeared in. The bulk of the pieces are dedicated to rebuilding the home of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins--Bag End-- and you'll be able to build various rooms. The collection of minifigures here includes Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo, Frodo, and Samwise Gamgee, so you can relive moments from the Fellowship of the Ring. Other parts of the set include Gandalf’s cart, the dragon fireworks, and the party tree where Bilbo celebrated his 111th birthday.

For the free gift, Lego Insiders will get a cute little set that captures one of the darker moment from the films. This is a quick-build 181-piece kit that recreates the tragic scene where Smeagol and Deagol discover the One Ring that was thought to be lost.
Most of Lego's Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit sets have been retired for roughly a decade, but fans have been treated to multiple large-scale sets in the Lego Icons line over the past two years.
Most recently, Lego released an appropriately tall replica of Sauron's stronghold. The 5,471-piece recreation of Barad-dur is a sight to behold. When fully assembled, this impressively detailed build is 32.5 inches tall, so you really do need to plan ahead to figure out where to display the $460 set. In addition to replicating the intricate design of Barad-dur's foundation and spire--including an illuminated Eye of Sauron--the inside of Sauron's stronghold is loaded with cool features. Across the five levels, you'll find Sauron's throne room with a secret passageway, Gollum's hideout, an Orc prison, a kitchen and dining hall, an armory, a library, and more. The spacious tower has plenty of room for the included 10 minifigures as well as Lord of the Rings minifigures who want to visit from The Shire or Rivendell.
For less doom and gloom, check out Lego's massive 6,167-piece recreation of Rivendell. Bringing Elvish architecture to life on this grand of a scale will cost you $500, which is to be expected with a Lego display of this size. Once completed, you'll need considerable shelf space to display this gorgeous build. Lego's Rivendell is a staggering 28.5 inches wide, 19.5 inches deep, and 15 inches tall. The set comes with 15 minifigures as well, including all the characters you need to recreate the iconic scene where the Fellowship of the Ring was formed.
