This isn't the first time Ratalaika has brought back a GBA game for modern platforms. Last year, the company released Aero The Acro-Bat: Rascal Rival Revenge, which was originally launched in 2002 for Nintendo's handheld. Funnily enough, that was a remake itself of the first Aero game from 1993.

This new edition of Scurge: Hive will sport "save states, cheats, and rewind functionality," per Steam. No specific release date has been given by Ratalaika, though the publisher stated on X that the launch should happen soon.

Scurge: Hive sees players assuming the role of a bounty hunter named Jenosa who can upgrade her abilities. While a metroidvania title, gameplay takes place from an isometric perspective and shares similarities to The Legend of Zelda series, too.
