The newest episode of The Boys poked fun at the superhero movie landscape
Later in the episode, we see the character Tek Knight appearing on stage to promote a reboot of Tek Knight known as The Tek Knight. He says the movie has a Nirvana soundtrack and a 12-minute sequence that's "entirely pitch black." This is a pretty clear nod to The Batman, which prominently featured the Nirvana song "Something in the Way" and was a very physically dark movie.
The Boys has now aired five of its eight episodes in Season 4. New episodes air Thursdays on Prime Video. This is the penultimate season of The Boys, as the show is due to wrap up with Season 5.
