GameSpot has contacted EA in an attempt to clarify the platform availability for Battlefield 6. We also asked EA if the company has any plans to support the Switch 2.

For what it's worth, Activision has said it remains committed to bringing Call of Duty to Switch at some point in the future. The mainline Battlefield series has never come to a Nintendo platform.

The last entry in the series, 2021's Battlefield 2042, was released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, along with PS4 and Xbox One. Those consoles were released back in 2013, and it was always just a matter of time before they would be abandoned by the newest games.

Battlefield 6 is in development at DICE, Motive, Ripple Effect, and Criterion, all of which are contributing to the game under the Battlefield Studios banner. The game's campaign was shown off in the announcement trailer on July 24, and on July 31, EA will unveil the game's multiplayer mode.
