The RPG also appears near-locked at 60fps on the upcoming hardware upgrade

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Looks Sharper And More Detailed On PS5 Pro - Report

The video comparison--seen above--points out how blurry Final Fantasy VII Rebirth can look on PS5 with the Performance Smooth mode. Then, on PS5 Pro, the Square Enix RPG features much better image quality, whether it's characters or trees in the far-off background. Additionally, skin textures appear much better. Digital Foundry showcases how Barret's face features more details that are almost smeared currently on PS5.

The PS5 Pro version of Final Fantasy VII also seems to stay near-locked at 60fps, while the PS5 edition with Performance mode could suffer drops. For instance, intense fights could see the frame rate dip, per Digital Foundry via Eurogamer. The Performance Smooth and Sharp modes were part of the first patch for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth earlier this year.

Square Enix has revealed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth didn't meet sales expectations, nor did Final Fantasy XVI. Looking ahead, the company plans to include Queen's Blood in Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3.
