Season 11 will also include a new Push map set in the Peruvian Andes, Runasapi, as well as new Hero Mastery courses for Kiriko and Soldier: 76. Buffs are coming to each of the game's three roles, Blizzard says, as well as improvements to weekly challenges that will give players who missed out on a previous week the ability to catch up before moving on to the current week's challenges.
Blizzard is already teasing Overwatch 2's next crossover, with the shooter having previously offered skins and cosmetics based on One-Punch Man, Cowboy Bebop, and the K-pop group Le Sserafim. In a press release, Blizzard states "more than meets the eye" is coming soon, with the Autobot logo appearing at the end of the official Season 11 trailer. That certainly seems to confirm that a Transformers crossover is in the cards, but no further details have been shared at this time.
As a way to celebrate 100 million players, Blizzard is putting the much-loved Pink Mercy skin, alongside a new Rose Gold variant, back on sale, all of the proceeds from which will benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Blizzard also partnered with Overwatch content creators TQQ, Emongg, Custa, and Eskay to modify the game's various hero roles in a new Arcade game mode, with more specific details on the mode set to be revealed once Season 11 launches.
For those who aren't interested in the battle pass or buying Pink Mercy, there are some freebies up for grabs. A new Aztec Sombra skin, name card, and spray can be earned by completing in-game challenges once the season begins. Tuning in to watch Overwatch 2 on Twitch will score players some additional free items crafted by the community, including a Hanzo skin, Kiriko spray, and Rose Gold Mercy player icon. Players will need to watch a total of seven hours of Overwatch 2 content from June 20-24 to unlock the spray and skin, and then another three hours from June 25-30 to earn the Ruse Gold Mercy icon (which will also serve as a second chance to earn the previous rewards for those who missed them the first time around).
Blizzard previously announced it would be removing one of the game's PvE modes, the Hero Mastery Gauntlet, from Overwatch 2 come Season 11's launch. The three-person co-op mode saw players team up to battle against waves of bots in a round-based, tower defense-inspired mode. Hero Mastery solo courses for each of the game's playable heroes will continue to be released.
