Final Fantasy 7 Remake Physical Edition Gets PS5 Reprint - Snag It While You Can
The sought-after physical edition of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is back in stock at Best Buy, but probably not for long
We're two chapters into the grand remake trilogy of Final Fantasy 7 games, and if you want to own physical versions of the trilogy, now's your chance to snag Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade's sought-after physical edition for PS5. Best Buy has FF7 Remake Intergrade in stock for $70 as of January 7. Earlier this week, Amazon listed it for $50, but the retailer sold out fast.
The PS5 physical edition has been out of print for years, which has led to some rather ridiculous prices on the reseller market. Finally, Square Enix has finally printed a fresh batch of the sought-after edition that bundles the base game and the Intermission DLC.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a gorgeous reboot of the classic 1997 game it's based on. Set primarily within the early Midgar chapters of Final Fantasy 7, the remake gives Cloud Strife and the rest of the Avalanche crew a massive graphical glow-up as they fight to stop Shinra Inc. from turning the planet's life essence into a power source. Ghosts from the past threaten Cloud and his friends, and toward the end of the game, there are major changes to the storyline that shake up the status quo.
The Intermission expansion focuses on Yuffie Kisaragi and her partner Sonon Kusakabe as they work to steal a powerful artifact from Shinra. This is a short but fun add-on to the main campaign of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which also saw various technical and graphical improvements added to the game. It's a fairly linear game overall--with some annoying padding--but if you're looking to revisit the cyberpunk world of Square Enix's beloved sci-fantasy game, Final Fantasy 7 Remake won't disappoint.

Published in November, Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Material Ultimania Plus takes fans behind the scenes for a look at the creation of the heralded RPG. Normally $40, the hardcover edition of the new book is on sale for $33 at Amazon. You can also save 50% on the first Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Material Ultimania book, which drops the price to only $20. This 336-page hardcover focuses on FF7 Remake's original PS4 version.
The second entry in the FF7 Remake trilogy, Rebirth, released last year and greatly expanded on its ideas while adding several open-world environments to explore. If you're looking to grab it as well, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for PS5 is on sale for $40 (was $70) at Walmart. The game will also be available for PC purchase starting January 23.
Another reprint that Final Fantasy fans might want to pick up is Final Fantasy I-VI Collection, which contains the Pixel Remasters of the first six mainline games. This originally launched with an extremely limited print run, but new copies for PS4 and Nintendo Switch were released in October last year. You can save on both versions at Amazon right now. The PS4 edition is on sale for only $49.66, while the Switch edition is $67. If you're okay with getting a European physical edition--the Switch is region-free--you can snag the collection for $49 at Walmart.
The collection includes the Pixel Remaster editions of the first six mainline Final Fantasy games and a sticker sheet of Final Fantasy character sprites. Square Enix remodeled the sprites using the original pixel art as a foundation and series composer Nobuo Uematsu oversaw the work on the rearranged soundtracks.
