HBO's Harry Potter TV Series Lands Succession Veterans As Showrunner And Director
The upcoming HBO reboot of Harry Potter will have a strong behind-the-scenes link to Succession
The new Harry Potter series is said to be a more faithful retelling of the original novels by J.K. Rowling. Additionally, the show will feature an all-new cast. Now that the creative team is in place, the series is looking at a 2026 debut on HBO and casting calls will likely begin soon. Rowling shared the news and endorsed Gardiner and Mylod.

As for Rowling, the author is no longer quite as beloved as she used to be thanks to her outspoken anti-Trans stance, which has alienated her from cast members of the Harry Potter movies as well as some readers who grew up with her novels. Even as recently as this week, Rowling keeps doubling down on her views, regardless of how her fans feel about it.
