Now Playing: Everything We Want in Grand Theft Auto 6

This is noteworthy, as, for the past decade, you had to tap the sprint button continuously, which was certainly a nuisance for a lot of players. Continuously tapping a button to run has been featured in most modern GTA games, but is problematic, especially in terms of accessibility. This update will hopefully make the game easier to play.

It's worth noting that the update is specifically geared toward GTA Online, so it's unclear if the new alternate sprint control option will be available in the single-player portion of GTA 5. We've reached out to Rockstar to see if the new control option will be available in single-player.

Grand Theft Auto V launched in September 2013 and eventually went on to sell over 180 million units worldwide, making it the second-best-selling game of all time (behind Minecraft). Rockstar is currently working on the next installment in the series, presumably GTA 6, which is expected to launch as early as 2024.
