The classic Hatsune Miku look will also be available to purchase in the item shop throughout Season 7, and it'll come in a bundle that includes a mic, drum set, two emotes, a musical contrail, and a jam track ("Miku" by Anamanaguchi).

Speaking of jam tracks, Miku is getting four of them right out of the gate. In addition to the one in the shop bundle, you'll be able to buy "World is Mine" by ryo (Supercell) and "Daisy 2.0" by Ashnikko in the item shop, and the Music Pass includes "M@GICAL☆CURE! LOVE ♥ SHOT!" by Sawtowne.

For those who aren't so into vocaloid stuff, the Music Pass also has three licensed jam tracks: "Short Skirt/Long Jacket" by Cake, "Love Don't Cost a Thing" by Jennifer Lopez, and "Work Work" by Britney Spears (that's the censored title for "Work Bitch").

On top of the arrival of Hatsune Miku to Fortnite, this update is adding the ability to use some of your musical instruments as back blings and pickaxes. While drum kits aren't included in this for obvious reasons, apparently some drum sticks are, which a nice surprise. Another key quality-of-life change is that Festival's Battle Stage is being split into instrument-specific modes--like vocals only.

If you're unfamiliar with Hatsune Miku, here's the short explanation. Miku is a vocaloid, which is a piece of vocal synthesizer software--an instrument that sings, basically--and Hatsune Miku is the adorable anime avatar for this specific voice. Yes, there are a lot of other vocaloids too, and they all have their own anime avatars. Miku also has her own long-running series of rhythm games, Project DIVA, so her inclusion in Fortnite Festival is a big deal for a lot of rhythm game fans.
