This year, the Seattle Mariners jerseys will have the Nintendo and Switch 2 logos on them for home and away games, respectively

Switch 2 Logo Will Appear On Pro Baseball Team's Jerseys This Year

Former Nintendo president and chairman Hiroshi Yamauchi bought the Seattle Mariners in 1992, with Nintendo of America chairman Howard Lincoln selling the Mario maker's majority stake in 2016 for hundreds of millions of dollars. The company still owns 10% of the baseball franchise.

"Nintendo and the Mariners have been inextricably linked since 1992," Seattle Mariners President of Business Operations Kevin Martinez said. "Now, each time the Mariners take the field, our jersey sleeves will help serve as a reminder of all that Nintendo of America has done for the Northwest community and the team. There isn’t a better partnership in Major League Baseball. We are grateful for our incredible relationship with Nintendo."

Mariners centerfielder Julio Rodriguez will become an official Nintendo brand ambassador as part of this partnership.

"It's a genuine thrill to be able to partner with such a talented team, including bright stars like Julio," Nintendo's Doug Bowser said.

Whether or not the Nintendo logo will appear on the Mariners jerseys inside Sony's MLB The Show 25 video game is unknown.

As for Nintendo, 2025 is shaping up to be a huge year for the company. As mentioned, the Switch 2 is coming this year, and it's expected to launch around June for about $400.

If you're looking to play a baseball game, Sony's MLB The Show 25 is out now, while Backyard Baseball is coming to mobile soon. You can also grab a Shohei Ohtani skin in Fortnite right now.
