Battlefield 6 Leak Shows A Beloved Immersive Feature From BF1 Might Be Back

Time to get dirty
In addition to the video clip, Ter-Lee-Comedy also posted a before-and-after comparison screenshot of a pristine weapon as shown in the Battlefield 6 open beta compared to one covered in grime from a more recent playtest.
The difference is substantial, with the dirt-covered weapon looking to be caked in mud. While the buildup of mud and dirt on weapons is purely cosmetic and doesn't affect gameplay, it's still a popular visual feature that many players have said help battles feel more immersive. However, it's worth nothing that just because the feature is in a playtest doesn't guarantee it will be in Battlefield 6 at launch.
Combined with the greater destructibility of Battlefield 6's buildings and environments (something that players found lacking in Battlefield 2042), the latest installment of the franchise looks to be bringing back what fans loved from past Battlefield games. We said Battlefield 6 looks to be the Battlefield 3 and 4 successor the series needs in a recent preview.
In other Battlefield 6 news, leaked gameplay from the game's still mysterious battle royale mode recently made its way online. When it comes to Battlefield 6's visuals and performance, developer Battlefield Studios recently revealed the game's full recommended PC specs, as well as confirmed the game won't support ray tracing due to a decision to prioritize performance.
Battlefield 6 releases on October 10, but in the meantime players can score some Battlefield 6 cosmetic rewards by playing Battlefield 2042. For those who can't wait to play more Battlefield 6, players can still sign up for the Battlefield Labs testing program, which recently had players test bigger maps and a server browser.
