The skins in Fortnite have been a big part of the game's success! While most games of this nature tend to be first person and you can barely see yourself, this game is in third person so you are always looking at your cosmetics. That means the skin you have on is a lot more important, and you can personalize it in a variety of ways.

What skin is the best in Fortnite?

According to our readers, it looks like Midas is the best skin in Fortnite right now. You do get some fluctuation on the list, with Elite Agent, Drift, Lynx, and Catalyst all jockeying for the top position, but it looks like the man with the golden touch is occupying the spot at the moment.

Here's a look at the best outfits of all-time across battle passes and item shops throughout the entirety of Fortnite's history. While there's some newcomers to the list, you'll notice that skins like Drift, Calamity and John Wick,  and some others have maintained high spots on the list for a very long time.

However, the new Battle Pass Skins from Chapter 2 Season 6 have all been taking the top spots!

#1. Midas

The Midas Skin is a Legendary Fortnite Outfit from the Golden Ghost set. Midas was available via the Battle Pass during Season 12 and could be unlocked at Tier 100.

How-to Get the Midas Skin

Midas is part of Season 12. If that season is still currently in the game, you can obtain this item by purchasing and/or leveling up your Battle Pass.

#2. Drift

The Drift Skin is a Legendary Fortnite Outfit from the Drift set. Drift was available via the Battle Pass during Season 5 and could be unlocked at Tier 1.

Drift is the first unlockable skin in the paid Battle Pass for Season 5. He apparently comes from more modern times and was pulled through the rift portal that was created in the rocket event. He has multiple unlockable and selectable styles.

Fully Unlocked Skin

You will need to gain 200,000 XP to earn the full Drift skin with glowing eyes and lightning effects.

Drift is part of Season 5. If that season is still currently in the game, you can obtain this item by purchasing and/or leveling up your Battle Pass.

#3. Lynx

The Lynx Skin is a Legendary Fortnite Outfit from the Lynx set. Lynx was available via the Battle Pass during Season 7 and could be unlocked at Tier 1.

Lynx is part of Season 7. If that season is still currently in the game, you can obtain this item by purchasing and/or leveling up your Battle Pass.

#4. Catalyst

The Catalyst Skin is a Legendary Fortnite Outfit from the Drift set. Catalyst was available via the Battle Pass during Season 10 and could be unlocked at Tier 1.

Catalyst is part of Season 10. If that season is still currently in the game, you can obtain this item by purchasing and/or leveling up your Battle Pass.

#5. Calamity

The Calamity Skin is a Legendary Fortnite Outfit from the Western Wilds set. Calamity was available via the Battle Pass during Season 6 and could be unlocked at Tier 1.

Calamity is the main Legendary skin you get at the start of the Season 6 Battle Pass. What I mean by this is that each battle pass you start with two skins. One is an Epic (DJ Yonder) and one is an unlockable Legendary that has multiple styles. You unlock these new styles by playing the game and gaining experience. Each style gives you more detail on the skin, and eventually you get the dark Cowgirl with smoke and lighting effects!

How-to Get the Calamity Skin

Calamity is part of Season 6. If that season is still currently in the game, you can obtain this item by purchasing and/or leveling up your Battle Pass.

#6. John Wick

The John Wick Skin is a Legendary Fortnite Outfit from the John Wick set. It was released on May 16th, 2019 and was last available 126 days ago. It can be purchased from the Item Shop for 2,000 V-Bucks when listed. John Wick was first added to the game in Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 9.

The Legendary John Wick Skin is going to be part of a promotion for John Wick 3: Parabellum that is coming to the movie theaters on May 17th, 2019. One of the more famous skins in Fortnite was The Reaper skin, which was pretty much just referred to as the "John Wick" skin. Players who own that skin might be slightly disappointed, but there is now an official John Wick skin that bears the name and looks exactly like Keanu Reeves who plays the character. This skin also comes with a second "damaged" style option.

How-to Get the John Wick Skin

John Wick can be obtained with V-Bucks when it is in the Item Shop. This item returns on average every 166 days and is likely to be in the item shop around September 7, 2021.  

#7. Dark Voyager

The Dark Voyager Skin is a Legendary Fortnite Outfit from the Space Explorers set. Dark Voyager was available via the Battle Pass during Season 3 and could be unlocked at Tier 70.

Dark Voyager is one of the futuristic skins from the Space Explorers set. This is an all-around great looking skin with the dark gray/black colored space suit and the orange highlights. It's just a shame that it wasn't one of the skins that you could customize the color on!

#8. Astro Jack

The Astro Jack Skin is an Icon Series Fortnite Outfit from the Travis Scott set. It was released on April 22nd, 2020 and was last available 458 days ago. It can be purchased from the Item Shop for 2,000 V-Bucks when listed. Astro Jack was first added to the game in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2.

Astro Jack can be obtained with V-Bucks when it is in the Item Shop. Cosmetics rotate in and out of the shop each day, so we have no way of knowing when it will return.

#9. Harley Quinn

The Rebirth Harley Quinn Skin is a DC Fortnite Outfit from the ...And Red All Over set. It was released on June 16th, 2021 and was last available 38 days ago. It can be purchased from the Item Shop for 1,200 V-Bucks when listed. Rebirth Harley Quinn was first added to the game in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6.

Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point will be a Six-Issue Mini-Series that releases April. 20.

Each print will include codes to unlock in-game items in Fortnite. The first issue will include the New Rebirth Harley Quinn Outfit, and then finally when all Six have been redeemed you can get a Batman Zero Point Armored skin!

The Pricing for each Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point issue will be— $4.99 Card Stock Variant Issues and $5.99. Both will include a code.

The Chaos Agent Skin is an Epic Fortnite Outfit from the Final Reckoning set. It was released on October 25th, 2019 and was last available 2 days ago. It can be purchased from the Item Shop for 1,500 V-Bucks when listed. Chaos Agent was first added to the game in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1.

Chaos Agent can be obtained with V-Bucks when it is in the Item Shop. This item returns on average every 35 days and is likely to be in the item shop any day now.
