How to use a boat in Minecraft

To use the boat, equip it on your hotbar, place it in your hand, and then go to a body of water. Right-click on the water and the boat will start floating. You can get in the boat by right-clicking again, and from there, you're able to steer it in any direction.

Disembarking the boat requires you to press the "Sneak" button, which is Left-Control on keyboard by default. If you're moving to a new location, you can also break the boat and pick it back up to put it in your inventory, allowing you to use it again later.
