Now Playing: Nintendo Switch 2 And All Its Accessories Unboxing

CD Projekt Red may have intended that keyboards and mice to work on Switch 2, as the on-screen button prompts even switch to keyboard buttons when the input method is changed. Some of the prompts are a bit cut off--it's not a perfect implementation--but according to the video, all of the normal PC controls work on Switch 2 as you would expect.

As this is a semi-hidden feature on the new console, it is currently unclear what types of mice and keyboards work. Blunty, for instance, is using a wireless keyboard and mouse, but he doesn't detail if these plug in via USB dongle or are connected via Bluetooth. The Switch 2 community will inevitably continue testing the limits of this functionality; we will also have to wait and see if Nintendo talks about this in the future.

Switch 2 released this week with a launch slate headlined primarily by Mario Kart World and third-party ports and upgrades like Cyberpunk 2077. Although preorders had been sold out for weeks, some retailers made a small number of consoles available to launch-day purchasers. While they are unavailable right now, we anticipate additional restocks coming in the near future and will update with any news here. If you are one of the lucky players who got their hands on a launch-week Switch 2, be sure to check out every Switch 2 game so far, the best Switch 2 games at launch, and all of the games that are getting Switch 2 upgrades.
