Rudd sports the same outfit in the new Switch 2 ad, which spurs actor Joe Lo Truglio (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Wet Hot American Summer) to ask: "Why are you dressed like you're in a boy band?" The commercial puts a major focus on GameChat, the system's social hub that allows for voice and video chat.
The group plays Mario Kart World while utilizing GameChat. The launch game for Switch 2 is obviously highly anticipated, but it's also been the center of a feisty debate about whether it's justified to cost $80. Mario Kart World also got its own Nintendo Direct last week, and we learned how eating meals can unlock costumes in the game.
Switch 2 preorders will finally begin this week on April 24 in the US, after a delay seemingly sparked by the Trump administration's announcement of new tariffs on countries like Vietnam and China. These are two of the main locations where Nintendo manufactures its systems and accessories. Switch 2 will cost $450 when it launches June 5.
