With great power there must also come come great discounts

Amazing Spider-Man 4K Double-Feature Blu-Ray Discounted on Amazon

With a new Spider-Man film currently in production, now is a great time to catch up on the older movies starring everyone's favorite web-slinger. Over at Amazon, you can get a new 4K bundle of the two Amazing Spider-Man movies that starred Andrew Garfield as the iconic hero for just $29.49 (was $50). This is now in stock, and it comes with digital streaming codes for each film as well.

Following the release of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3 in 2007, the superhero franchise went into hibernation for a few years. The hiatus ended with the release of The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012, and it was followed by a sequel in 2014. The native 4K (2160p) resolution for the Spidey movies are top-notch, and for audio, the discs offer Dolby Atmos support that works really well through a surround system.

The only catch here is that you won't get much in terms of bonus materials. There is a cast-and-crew photo tab option on both discs and "categorized" moments you can skip to, but otherwise, you'll need to grab the standard Blu-ray releases of these Spider-Man movies to access special features.

Overall, these Spider-Man movies are okay at best, but they don't reach the same groundbreaking heights as the Sam Raimi trilogy starring Tobey Maguire or the recent Spidey flicks with Tom Holland under the mask, which is strengthened by its MCU connections. The Amazing Spider-Man is a passable retelling of Peter Parker's origin story with some baffling deviations from the established story, while The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is an overstuffed attempt at setting up a Sinister Six movie.

What the movies did have going for them was Garfield's portrayal of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, plus an amazing supporting cast that featured Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, and several other great actors.

If you're looking to flesh out your collection, there are plenty of other Spider-Man Blu-rays you can grab right now at a discounted price. There's a 4K bundle deal on the Sam Raimi-directed Spider-Man films for $46 (was $76) or you can grab a standard Blu-ray bundle of the recent MCU Spider-Man movies for $26 (was $56). The two animated Spider-Verse movies are also highly recommended, and you can grab a Collector's Edition Blu-ray of them for $84 (was $97). Lego is also releasing a new series of minifigures themed around Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on September 1, and these are now available to preorder.

We've also listed the individual 4K versions of these modern-day Spider-Man movies, in case you just need one or two of them so that you can plug a gap in your collection.

On the animated side, you can pick up several DVDs of classic Spider-Man TV shows. Spectacular Spider-Man is still one of the best of all time--thanks in part to that amazing intro track--and MTV's attempt to capitalize on the box-office success of the 2002 Spider-Man movie with a slightly edgier take on the character is still fascinating to watch, even if it can be a bit cheesy at times.

For something geared toward kids, there's also the first season of Spidey And His Amazing Friends, a cute series revolving around young spider-themed heroes with abnormally big heads.
