Classic Digimon Movies Are Coming To Blu-Ray, Preorders Are Now Open
You're DigiDestined to revisit the 2000s with this new Blu-ray collection of Digimon movies
The first Digimon movie, Digimon Adventure, was released in 1999 and tells the story of Tai and Kari's first encounter with the Digital Monster world. A year later, Digimon: Our War Game was released and focused on how the DigiDestined had to stop the evil Diaboromon from wreaking havoc on the internet. Another Digimon film was released in 2000--Hurrican Touchdown--and revolved around the next generation of DigiDestined kids, American allies, and an enigmatic enemy waiting in the shadows.
Beyond the movies, the only real extra you're getting on this Blu-ray is the original English Dub, just in case you feel like doing a comparison between the movies.
See at the Crunchyroll Store See at AmazonTo add to your Digimon collection, you can check out the original series and several of the recent movies as well. The complete first season of Digimon Adventure has all 54 episodes on Blu-ray for just $49, and the sequel series Digimon Adventure 02 does a great job of making that 50-episode run look sharp in 1080p. The recent movies are interesting as well, and these take part in an era where the DigiDestined have moved on with their lives as they've matured, but circumstances force them to reunite so that they can face a new threat to the planet.

While it's not as cool as Digimon, the first Yu-Gi-Oh movie did recently get a Blu-ray release as well, so if you're looking to watch some d-d-d-d-d-dueling action, this is a fun film as it condenses a Duel Monsters match between Yugi and Seto Kaiba to a more manageable length instead of several-dozen episodes. You can also snag a steelbook edition of the first three Pokemon movies--Mewtwo Strikes Back, The Power of One, and Spell of the Unown--for $33, or the regular edition Blu-ray for $17.50.
