The DJ turned entrepreneur turned new mom knows a thing or two about creating a calming bedtime routine.
How Hannah Bronfman Sleeps At Night
Hannah Bronfman does not shy away from a busy schedule. She’s an author, DJ, founder of HBFIT, and an esteemed influencer who spends her days interviewing the likes of former president Barack Obama. Oh and she’s also a new mom to a 5-month-old. Adding parenthood into the mix, says Bronfman, is something that has really made her appreciate sleep. “In the first three months, it was definitely intense!” she says.
Whether she’s traveling for work, needing to get up early for a meeting or spending a weekend at home with the family, sleep is the fuel that keeps Bronfman going. And as such, she takes her pre–bed routine very seriously. “If I'm really tired, all I need to do is pull out a book, read two pages, and then fully pass out,” she says. But for the other nights—when their are diaper changes, work calls or quality time with family to squeeze in—a routine is essential.
We chatted with Bronfman, who appears to have mastered the art of getting a full 8 hours, to hear about the products she swears by that make hitting the hay a little bit easier—and why she absolutely refuses to towel dry her face.
The sleep hacks I swear byI actually have two things I try to do before bed. One is not being on my phone 30 minutes prior to bed—my husband is laughing in the background because I can say that but it's not necessarily what I always do. And then the other thing I love is this supplement Natural Vitality Calm and putting that in a glass of water. In that 30 minute window when I'm not on my phone, I like to do my nighttime routine and I usually drink a glass of water—it’s a recipe for a good night's sleep.
The face products that make all the differenceI normally start with an oil cleanser. Right now I'm using an oil-based cleanser from Eve Lom. Then I will cleanse with a gel cleanser afterwards. The one I'm using right now is iS Clinical’s Cleansing Complex.

$44iS ClinicalI have this weird phobia with towels so I don't really towel dry my face but as I let my face air dry, I brush my teeth. I use my Pronamel Mineral Boost toothpaste. It’s the one non-negotiable in my nighttime routine because I cannot go to sleep without brushing my teeth. Then I spritz on the Refresh Face Mist by Linne. It's a really nice mineral, spritz for your face.

I either will use an actual moisturizer or I will use an oil. Right now I’m really liking the Augstinus Bader The Cream face cream. And I've been using a retinol eye cream from Verso, their Super Eye Serum.

I'm not using that every single night but that is my once a week treat that I'm really looking forward to.

I really like using that to wash off oil cleanser because I can see the makeup that's coming off my skin and I can see what it looks like coming off of the cloth when I run it under hot water.

And then I also have a magnesium spray that I spray on my tummy before I go to bed by Aimpee Raupp. It’s called Mag-Ease Oil. I love all her products. She has this really great Organic Happy Baby Balm that I use on my son. I do all the sprays. It’s insane. My husband is like, “What are we spraying tonight?” I’m always spraying pillows with the This Works lavender pillow mist.
I bedding I splurged onI've been loving my sheets from Boll & Branch. They also have a really nice waffle blanket that I put in between the sheets and the comforter just for that added layer of coziness.

$188Boll & BranchI have a Serta mattress that I absolutely love. But I also have a mattress from the Four Seasons that's in storage. I find that the beds at the Four Seasons hotels are so comfortable and you can actually buy their mattresses. So we did.
The last thing I do before bedI look at my calendar for the next day. I feel like these days I'm a bit scatterbrained. So I need to kind of look ahead a little bit and make sure I can wrap my head around some of the things that need to get done. Because obviously there's a lot going on and new mom brain is really real.
